Mystics and Visionaries brings together works by composers and songwriters spanning ten centuries — artists who used the medium of music to broadcast bold new ideas into the world that inspired them, and in doing so, transmuted the very medium in which they worked. Husband-wife team Ann Moss and Justin Ouellet use the full range of sonic textures at their disposal to create living, breathing arrangements that offer a modern perspective on sounds and stories from our collective past. Mystics and Visionaries celebrates artists across the ages who inspire us to examine in new ways the enduring elements of our ancient world. 

This program was originally designed for the Farnsworth Museum’s 2024 Momentum exhibition series and was crafted in response to paintings by Maine-based artist Emilie Stark-Menneg.
