Bach's Lunch: Mystics & Visionaries

Ann Moss — vocals

Justin Ouellet — violin, viola, guitar

Mystics and Visionaries brings together works by composers and songwriters spanning ten centuries — artists who used the medium of music to broadcast bold new ideas into the world that inspired them, and in doing so, transmuted the very medium in which they worked. Husband-wife team Ann Moss and Justin Ouellet create living, breathing arrangements that offer a modern perspective on sounds and stories from our collective past. Mystics and Visionaries celebrates artists across the ages who inspire us to examine in new ways the enduring elements of our ancient world.

This program was originally designed for the Farnsworth Museum’s 2024 Momentum exhibition series and was crafted in response to paintings by Maine-based artist Emilie Stark-Menneg.

Feeling comfortable in a choral ensemble is not something that happens overnight, and can feel like a lot to figure out on your own! This 8-week workshop introduces novice choral singers to the skills they will need to feel ready for their choir experience. Under the direction of voice faculty Ann Moss, you’ll learn the nuances of singing together, blending voices, matching harmonies, score reading, and more. Much of the class time will be spent singing, using a wide variety of repertoire including choral hymns, pop/folk song arrangements, and the Great American Songbook.

Classes meet on Wednesdays from 12-1pm (Apr 1, 8, 15, 29; May 6, 13, 20, 27)
